About Paul

Paul is a Certified Teacher of the Royal Schools of Music and was awarded the status with the highest classification of Excellent. He graduated with a first class honours degree in Education and passed the Diploma of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in both Piano Teaching and Piano Performance.  

Educated at Chetham's, he won an entrance scholarship at seventeen to study at the RNCM and subsequently worked as a session singer at the BBC and with several opera companies at home and abroad which included five years at Scottish Opera. Paul has diplomas in piano and pipe organ performance, piano teaching, singing teaching, vocal performance and written diplomas in music theory and composition. He has completed the Level 1 and 2 courses in the Estill Voice Model and is currently preparing for the Certificate in Figure Proficiency. 

Paul's students have consistently enjoyed outstanding results in graded exams and diplomas. He has students studying Musical Theatre at Arts Ed, GSA, Italia Conti and Mountview. Paul has worked with several professional artists in the pop music industry and his pop vocals students have a 100% success rate of passing Grade 8 Popular Music with Distinction. He currently has piano students at all levels from grade 1 to post grade 8. 

Paul is currently studying for an MA in Voice Pedagogy and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2017. He is the author of a series of fifty books called Pete the Bee and ten stories that he wrote for his son during lockdown called Will and His Dog.

He lives with his wife and eight year old son near Blackwood in South Wales.
